This month's theme, "Preparedness", reflects the need for individuals and societies to have preparations in place for when a crisis strikes. Developments this month features the devastating consequences of the failure to prepare. The Hawaii island community of Maui was caught unprepared for the wildfires that swept across its towns. ECOWAS was unprepared for the coup in Niger or for the military intervention necessary to reinstall the democratically elected government.
